“It has been said that my Requiem does not express the fear of death and someone has called it a lullaby of death. But it is thus that I see death: as a happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above, rather than as a painful experience.”
I'm happy to be joining my friend, Dan Resch, and the Laguna Beach Chorale again, this time for Gabriel Fauré's Requiem Mass. This piece has always meant a lot to me and was my first truly "religious experience" in singing. I will never forget the feeling I had the first time I sang the Lux Aeterna. It set the tone for my relationship to classical music for the rest of my life and inspired me to follow this passion of mine.
Concert at 4pm Sunday June 5 at St. Clements by the Sea in San Clemente, California.
